About Motijheel

Motijheel is the southern terminus of MRT Line 6 and the gateway to the central business district of Dhaka. The station opened on 4 November 2023, completing the full route from Uttara North after the northern segment had been operating since December 2022.

Motijheel sits at the geographic and economic heart of Dhaka. Within walking distance you have Bangladesh Bank (the central bank), most of the country’s major commercial bank headquarters, the Dilkusha Commercial Area and the historic Motijheel lake. The station is elevated, with concourse access on both sides of Dilkusha Road.

When the under-construction extension to Kamalapur opens, Motijheel will become a regular through-station and Kamalapur will be the future multi-line interchange hub (MRT 1 / 2 / 4 + Kamalapur Railway Station + bus terminal).
