About Dhaka University

Dhaka University station serves the main campus of the country's oldest and most prestigious university, founded in 1921. The metro station opened with the southern segment on 4 November 2023.

Within walking distance you have TSC (Teacher-Student Centre), the iconic Aparajeyo Bangla sculpture, Doel Chattar, Curzon Hall (one of the oldest buildings on campus, dating to 1904), the Central Library, the central Shaheed Minar national language monument and Suhrawardy Udyan to the west.

This is one of the busiest student stations in the Dhaka network during term time. The university also borders the historic Old Dhaka district just to the south — easily reached by rickshaw from the station.
