About Kazipara

Kazipara is a small but well-used station serving the Kazipara residential area and the Begum Rokeya Sarani corridor connecting Mirpur with central Dhaka.

The area is residential with local markets, schools, small clinics and mosques. The station opened on 15 March 2023. It was damaged during the unrest of July 2024 and stayed closed until 20 September 2024. Today it is a popular hop-on point for short journeys to Mirpur 10 or southbound to Farmgate.

Begum Rokeya Sarani — the major north-south arterial that MRT Line 6 follows here — is named after the pioneering Bengali feminist writer Begum Rokeya Sakhawat Hossain.

Connections and transfers

MRT Line 6 — direct trains north (towards Uttara North) and south (towards Motijheel). No transfers needed for any L6 station.

Dhaka public buses — local BRTC and private bus routes serve the surface roads adjacent to Kazipara. Look for the signposted bus stand on either side of the road outside the station entrances.

Rickshaws and CNG auto-rickshaws — readily available at every entrance; useful for short hops to neighbourhoods not directly on the metro alignment.

Yes — every MRT Line 6 station has ticket vending machines (TVM), where you can buy a Single Journey Ticket or top up an MRT Pass, and a ticket office (TOM).
Kazipara is served by the same trains as the rest of MRT Line 6. From Sunday to Thursday and on Saturdays the first train leaves Uttara North at 06:30 and Motijheel at 07:15; the last leaves Uttara North at 21:50 and Motijheel at 22:30. On Fridays the first trains are at 15:00 and 15:20, with the same last departures. Trains come every 5–6 minutes at the busiest times and every 20 at the very start and end of the day. DMTCL publishes terminal times only, not a time per station.
