About Farmgate

Farmgate is one of the busiest stations on MRT Line 6 and the area it serves is arguably the most congested intersection in all of Dhaka. The station opened with the southern extension on 4 November 2023 and has transformed daily commutes for thousands of office workers, students and shoppers.

Within walking distance you have Anandanchhera, the Tejgaon area offices, Holy Crescent Hospital, several shopping plazas (including the well-known Eastern Plaza and Sejan Point) and a dense cluster of educational institutions — Tejgaon College, Holy Cross College, Government Science College and many private universities within a short rickshaw ride.

Farmgate is also a major surface bus interchange — literally hundreds of bus routes converge at the Farmgate intersection, making it the most useful metro-to-bus transfer point on the line.
