About Mirpur 11

Mirpur 11 serves Section 11 of the Mirpur residential township — one of the largest planned residential developments in Dhaka, dating back to the 1950s. The station opened on 28 December 2022 with the northern segment of MRT Line 6.

The area is a mix of mid-rise apartment buildings, small shopping streets, mosques and the eastern edge of the Mirpur Cantonment. Section 11 is famous in Dhaka for its dense street-food culture and weekly bazaar near the Mirpur Section 11 bus stand.

The MRT Line 6 station is elevated and has step-free access on both sides of Mirpur Road, important because the surface crossings in this area can be very busy.

MRT Line 6 — direct trains north (towards Uttara North) and south (towards Motijheel). No transfers needed for any L6 station.

Dhaka public buses — local BRTC and private bus routes serve the surface roads adjacent to Mirpur 11. Look for the signposted bus stand on either side of the road outside the station entrances.

Rickshaws and CNG auto-rickshaws — readily available at every entrance; useful for short hops to neighbourhoods not directly on the metro alignment.
